Hospital Staff "Thank You" Cupcakes

This week I received a request from my cousin Bev for some "thank you" Cupcakes for the staff at Upstate Univ Hosp at Community General in Syracuse.  She had a recent stay there and wanted to say thanks to the gang in "3 West" for her care.  I thought this was such a nice idea.. I feel like you can't thank those people enough for what they do, and it's probably a thankless job most of the time.  Bev told me they went crazy for them!  I'm so glad they enjoyed :)

A "40 and Fab" Surprise Party this week!

This week I have a lot on my plate!  It's my sister Angie's 40th Birthday celebration.. shhhh.. it's a surprise!  I'm making a two-tiered Cake along with 36 Cupcakes - super excited!  The theme is "40 and Fabulous".  She likes jewelry so her Cake and Cupcakes will be bling'd out in different shades of her fave color - green.  Here is a pic of the bling'd Cupcake wraps I'm making (on my new vintage stands of course :)

..and here is one of the description cards I made up to be placed on the dessert table!

Busy Week!

So I was all set to kick back and relax this Easter week.. with nothing on my schedule but some simple little tulip Cupcakes.. ahhhh how nice :)   ..BUT THEN I received a FB message from the hubby's daughter, Amy, who wanted to know what her chances were of getting a Cake by Friday for her hubby's Birthday.. mind you it was Monday! :O

Of course we all know how difficult it is for me to say "no" to anyone in need of a Cake (or to turn down business ;) so that was it for my eazy breezy week.  Amy and I came up with a Yankee/Baseball theme for the Cake (oh AND Cupcakes)!  So I made a fondant Yankee logo Cake topper and the Cupcakes will coordinate being made to look like baseballs.  I just finished my topper and am super happy with how it turned out!

Meanwhile.. I'm also working on fondant tulips for my Easter Cupcakes
Why tulips? 'cause they are my favorite Spring flower ;)
